From immigrant success stories to national leadership, this issue celebrates the people and events transforming our region, plus exciting updates on the Mosaic Festival, our International Film Festival, and the Creative Hub.
As summer returns to our beautiful region, we take a moment to reflect on the journey we’ve shared so far this year. The first six months of 2025 have brought incredible momentum, meaningful progress, and powerful stories of impact across our communities.
At My East Coast Experience Media, we remain laser-focused on building the foundation for the next decade of our brand and mission. One of my personal guiding principles this year has been to stay positively focused on what we can control—to keep showing up, creating space, and telling stories that matter. That’s exactly what this issue represents.
We are very proud to feature the Honourable Lena Metlege Diab in this edition. As Canada’s new Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, her journey—from the daughter of Lebanese immigrants to one of the most influential leaders in Nova Scotia and now across Canada—is deeply inspiring. Her story reminds us that with determination and purpose, anything is possible.
Inside these pages, you’ll meet immigrants who are shaping every corner of our society: launching businesses, enriching our culture, and building a future where diversity is not just welcomed, but celebrated. Their stories reflect the values of resilience, courage, and community. They remind us that immigration is not just policy—it’s a powerful force for nation-building.
We’re also excited to share what’s ahead:
- The Mosaic Festival of Arts and Culture returns to downtown Halifax on September 20th—a joyful celebration of music, art, and belonging.
- Our 5th International Film Festival premieres this August, continuing our tradition of showcasing diverse voices through the power of film.
- The Creative Hub is growing, with our Cultural Competency Program expanding to help organizations and communities become more inclusive and responsive.
As we look to the second half of the year, we remain committed to telling stories that don’t always make headlines—but that move hearts and shape futures. Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for continuing to walk with us as we celebrate the people helping transform Atlantic Canada.
