Metro Community Housing Association actively recruiting newcomers to fill employment vacancies
Metro Community Housing Association (MCHA) is a non-profit, community-based agency that provides support to persons living with mental illness. MCHA is a service provider of the Nova Scotia Department of Community Services.
MCHA has grown from when it was established in 1974 to 15 residential locations, which include small option homes, group homes, complex care homes, a community transition house, a residential care facility, as well as a supported apartment service/ independent living supports.
MCHA is full of people who are passionate, collaborative, and supportive. The team believes in the value of the work they do, and it shows. MCHA promotes an environment that is inclusive, respectful, and supportive of diversity.
That’s why the organization is actively recruiting immigrants and newcomers to join its team. MCHA is facing the same staffing challenges as most employers, and sees no reason why it wouldn’t consider applicants who are eager to share their skills and eager to gain employment. Staff teams are under considerable stress with staffing challenges and if there is a pool of applicants we can tap into, we absolutely need to do so.
MCHA is an employer who has provided valuable employment to many newcomers to Canada and hopes to continue in this role. As an employer, the organization looks for the same things in all its applicants, such as the right attitude, the right approach to care, and communication skills.
MCHA’s day-to-day operations involve supporting those who live with mental illness. If you are interested in aiding this important work, then MCHA may be the right place for you.
