Most Inspiring Immigrants in Atlantic Canada welcomes feedback on its process

This is an exciting time of year for us here at My East Coast Experience. We are deeply into the planning of our annual gala for the Most Influential Immigrants in Atlantic Canada event. The significance of this event has grown steadily over the years and we are keenly aware of the responsibility we bear as its custodians.

Our only regret is we can’t recognize all the nominees we receive every year. So many pour in and we can only honour a few at a time. It’s a tough job and we enlist some excellent volunteers each year at this time to recommend which nominees should be honoured at the gala, as well as ways we can keep improving this initiative. We want to thank the members of our Advisory Committee for all their hard work.

With so many nominations coming in, someone is inevitably disappointed if they don’t make it all the way to the stage in January. To them we say please be patient. Each year there are instances where someone who didn’t make the final cut in the previous gala joins our growing list of past winners.

We are always looking for ways to improve our process, as mentioned earlier. We welcome input from the community and past participants. If you have ideas or recommendations, please feel free to send them to us. We will pass them along to the Advisory Committee to review and consider as part of their annual report. We have already had some feedback for this year’s Committee to review and reaction so far has been positive.

Finally, we want to thank everyone who participates and supports the Most Influential Immigrants in Atlantic Canada event. Whether you’re a corporate partner, a nominator, a volunteer, or a past honouree, we appreciate everyone’s contribution and hope to see your continued participation.
