My East Coast Experience extends its sincere congratulations to Faten Alshazly on her recent selection as the new Chair of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Faten is the first immigrant woman to hold this position, making her role central to the Chamber’s mandate and advancing its efforts to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Faten is originally from Egypt, but has lived in Nova Scotia since arriving with her family as a teenager in 1994. She has a diverse background focused on technology, marketing, and academia before she co-founded WeUsThem, an advertising and communications agency that has quickly attracted top level clients and earned impressive industry recognition.
“Faten is an excellent choice to lead the board at the Halifax Chamber of Commerce,” says Ifeanyi Emesih, founder and CEO of My East Coast Experience. “Her track record in business and volunteering is exemplary.”
Faten plays a key role on the advisory committee for the Most Inspiring Immigrants in Atlantic Canada, working closely with her fellow committee members to help guide and direct the program.
She has also been named to Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women twice, acted as a mentor in Dalhousie’s Women in Tech program, and was selected Female Executive of the Year in Canada by the Stevie Awards.
