My East Coast Experience Media and the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 are pleased to announce a new partnership designed to focus greater attention on the Mosaic International Film Festival of Arts and Culture.

The partnership will see the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 become the presenting partner of My East Coast Experience’s Mosaic International Film Festival of Arts and Culture, as well as host of the festival’s annual celebration. The museum will host screenings of the various films in competition, as well as meetings and learning opportunities for attending filmmakers.

The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 offers Canadians an informative and interactive experience showcasing the ongoing story of immigration to Canada—past to present and coast to coast to coast. It is Canada’s sixth national museum and is located in the Pier 21 national historic site at the Halifax seaport where nearly one million immigrants landed in Canada from 1928 to 1971. It features exhibitions rich with first-person accounts, intimate oral histories, archival photographs, artifacts, and immersive experiences. It explores themes of journey, arrival, belonging, and contributions situated within larger historical, political, and social contexts.

My East Coast Experience is a digital media, marketing, and event planning brand dedicated to celebrating the contributions of immigrants to their chosen home in Canada. By sharing their stories, from their struggles and cultural adjustments to their victories and achievements, My East Coast Experience strives to inspire East Coasters to welcome immigrants with open minds and open arms, and inspire newcomers to stay, take advantage of the region’s amazing opportunities, make the East Coast their home, and flourish.

“Just as Pier 21 was the first piece of Canada for almost a million new Immigrants to Canada,” says Ifeanyi Emesih, founder of My East Coast Experience Media, “The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 will now be the first piece of Canada experienced by emerging filmmakers from around the world.”

“The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 is proud to be the presenting partner for the Mosaic International Film Festival,” says Rebecca MacKenzie-Hopkins, Public Programs and Community Engagement Manager. “We are a museum of stories. Our exhibitions, collections, and programs share the countless journeys of immigrants to Canada and the cultural impacts of immigration. We look forward to giving members of our community the opportunity to gain understanding and be inspired by the unique narratives presented during the festival.”
