Amplifying Voices is a local partnership seeking to identify how business is adapting to increased calls for workplace diversity, equity, inclusion, and access in a post-George Floyd world. The partnership includes the Halifax Chamber of Commerce, My East Coast Experience, Ashanti Leadership and Professional Development Services, and Footprints Life Coaching.
But who are the people behind these local businesses and organizations? Can we put a face to this partnership?
The following series seeks to do just that. Each week we will provide a glimpse at the people behind this unique project and the role they play.
The third in our series of profiles is Emma Menchefski, communications manager for the Halifax Chamber of Commerce. Emma’s role with the project goes beyond just representing the Chamber and includes connecting the team with Chamber members, supporting focus groups, and amplifying the team’s efforts and business owner and employees’ survey through the Chamber’s communications channels.
Emma has worked in the communications industry in Nova Scotia for a decade. In that time, she has supported the business community through her passion for telling stories. Working with the members of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce over the last four years, she’s had the opportunity to meet with Halifax’s vibrant and diverse businesses.
Her work focuses on sharing business stories through social media, local business magazines, and strong relationships with the media. When she’s not writing or editing, you can find her attending a board meeting for Bide Awhile Animal Shelter, teaching pilates, or taste testing local craft beer.
